Phase 2 Development

We are delighted with the completion of Phase One of a major redevelopment. Led by Harold Blackburn & Associates Ltd. the Northfields Avenue end of the premises has been remodelled to create two meeting rooms, new coffee point and upgraded toilet and cloakroom facilities. The work has clearly enhanced the appearance of the church to the advantage of the local area.

Our Redevelopment Group - meets regularly to plan dozens of imaginative and enjoyable events raising the thousands of pounds we need. But our entire church family is encouraged to come forward with ideas. 

Phase 2 will include essential work on access and facilities in the community rooms on the east side of the church. We are very much looking forward to being able to provide this community space. However moving into this Phase is proving very frustrating, taking much longer than we had anticipated. We have had to adjust the Scheme for less expenditure. This
meant submitting a revised planning application to the Council and this was returned in September since the Council have changed the application forms. We quickly resubmitted with new forms. When we hear back from the Council we can go out to tender and hopefully begin the 6 month building work soon after that. 

In the meantime we have tried to keep the hoardings in good repair and to make them as attractive as possible with the murals and white paint. 

Obviously the delay is not something we wanted to happen or expected to happen. We are very disappointed that the scheme has not been able to keep to the original expected dates. However you can be assured that the finished result will enhance the area as the new front has done. Moreover it will provide improved facilities for our church and local community users.
