Kingsdown Methodist Church - Services
Worship is our most important activity, whether at Church on Sundays or lived out during the rest of the week.
Sunday Services
Every Sunday at 10.30 the Church family gather together to join in traditional Sunday worship. As well as our own Minister - Rev Roger Dunlop - preachers are drawn from other churches in the circuit as well as Local Preachers from a wider area and a growing number of Worship Leaders from within our own Church family.
Crèche and Young Church meet during the Service to make learning about God fun. The Young Church also meet after Evening Service for a House Group.
The evening service at 6.30 is a quieter and more reflective service.
Communion
Holy Communion is celebrated twice each month during the Sunday service and regularly includes prayers for healing with laying on of hands.
Family and Parade Service
On the second Sunday morning service each month there is a Family and Parade Service - this 'all age worship' is the most informal of our services and is attended by the uniformed Youth Groups who parade their flags and join in the whole service.
Baptisms
These usually take place within the framework of a Sunday morning service and give the wider Church family an opportunity to welcome the new menber into the congregation. If you want to arrange a Baptism please complete the Baptism enquiry form.
Weddings
Kingsdown welcomes weddings but in order to give time for adequate preparation we would normally expect you to give at least three months’ notice of the forthcoming wedding. However, in exceptional circumstances it may be possible to marry in the Church with less notice.
To discuss and book a wedding, please contact the Minister by completing the Wedding enquiry form. The minister will then get back to you, usually by phone.
